Terms & Conditions

1. Application and Entire Agreement

1.1 These Terms and Conditions apply to the provision of services by Louise Mackintosh, trading as This Home Works, of BS7, Bristol (referred to as we, us or our) to the individual or organisation purchasing the services (you or the client).
1.2 By confirming acceptance of a quote or by instructing us to begin work, you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.
1.3 These Terms, along with any written quotation, form the entire agreement between us. No other terms (express or implied) shall apply.

2. Services

2.1 This Home Works provides services including, but not limited to:
– Home consultancy
– Space planning
– Sustainable storage advice and solutions
– Smart, practical redesign using existing space and furniture
2.2 Services are provided in line with the description in the written quote or agreed scope. We will carry them out with reasonable care, skill and diligence.
2.3 Changes to the services (e.g. scheduling, scope) may be made to comply with legal or safety requirements, or if mutually agreed in writing.

3. Quotes, Deposits & Payment

3.1 Quotes are issued in writing via email and may be either fixed price or estimated for bespoke projects.
3.2 For project management or longer-term services, a deposit may be requested and will be agreed on a case-by-case basis. Deposits are non-refundable unless we cancel the work without cause.
3.3 Full payment is due by the 28th of the month in which the invoice is issued, by bank transfer, unless otherwise agreed.
3.4 We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at 4% above the Bank of England base rate until paid in full.
3.5 If payment is not received on time, we may pause or cancel any ongoing or future services.

4. Cancellations and Changes

4.1 You may cancel or reschedule booked services with at least 48 hours’ notice.
4.2 If less than 48 hours’ notice is given, a cancellation fee may be charged to cover time and preparation costs.
4.3 If we are unable to deliver the agreed services due to illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, we will offer an alternative date or refund any prepaid amount as appropriate.

5. Your Responsibilities

5.1 You must provide access to your home or space, any relevant background information, and timely responses to requests to allow us to carry out our services.
5.2 You confirm that any space we are working in is safe, secure, and free from hazardous conditions or situations.

6. Liability

6.1 Our liability is limited to the total amount paid by you for the specific services provided.
6.2 We are not liable for:
– Indirect or consequential loss
– Damage to property caused tradespeople or other specalists or services hired by you to work on the solutions offered by this service
– Any losses due to delay or cancellation caused by circumstances outside our control
6.3 You accept responsibility for implementing any advice or recommendations at your own risk and discretion.

7. Subcontracting and Goods

7.1 We do not subcontract any part of our service.
7.2 We do not supply or sell physical goods as part of our service.

8. Data Protection

8.1 We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Your personal data will be handled securely and only used to deliver our services to you.

9. Force Majeure

9.1 Neither party will be liable for any delay or failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, extreme weather, strikes, or government restrictions.

10. Legal

10.1 These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
10.2 Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
